Over 1500 samples are tested in a single day on an average

Ludhiana, Jan 3: Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana has made a significant achievement against Novel Coronavirus (COVD-19) epidemic by testing more than 1 lakh samples at Covid Testing Laboratory.
Dr. Jatinder Pal Singh Gill, Director Research and Nodal Officer of Covid Laboratory said that the Corona Warriors of the university are working continuously in three shifts and are working very hard. In this hour of crisis more than 1500 samples have also been tested in a day.
Praising the testing of more than one lakh samples, Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor commended the entire Covid Laboratory team and said that their contribution would always be remembered. He also expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for showing such confidence to the University for opening of this lab under ‘Mission Fateh’ . He said that Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and ex-Civil Surgeon Dr. RK Bagga have also given their full support to the varsity in this regard.
Dr. Singh said that Punjab and Government of India were fighting this epidemic in a very meticulous manner. As a result, the number of cases were steadily declining. But he also cautioned that we still have to be very careful and the rules laid down by the government should be adhered to.
The coordinator of this laboratory Dr. Yashpal Singh Malik, Dean, College of Animal Biotechnology said, “We have very advanced research facilities and our scientists are very skilled in this work. Our 10 scientists and 20 assistants are working from early morning till late evening for this human cause.”
He also acknowledged the contribution of Dr. Raj Bahadur, Vice-Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences and his team for their active support. He said that under the guidance of Dr. Ramneek and Dr A K Arora work for the establishment of this lab was started diligently and the result of which is before us.
Dr. Inderjeet Singh and the officials of the laboratory visited the laboratory on this occasion and encouraged the entire team and appreciated that they were making their full contribution in nation building in this time of crisis. He motivated that university is always stand by them when needed.
